FLA Executive Director Position
The Florida Library Association seeks a dynamic, experienced individual to lead FLA and manage our office in Tallahassee. The Executive Director supervises one FT and one PT employee, contract service providers, and an annual budget of $300,000. Primary responsibilities include leading and managing Association business, membership and organizational development, conference management, communication, advocacy and public relations, and working with our many talented volunteers.
The Florida Library Association is a non-profit membership organization serving librarians and library staff in public, academic, school, and special libraries throughout the state of Florida. Governance of the Association is by a Board of Directors holding the elected offices of FLA. The Association has several standing committees that include Finance, Legislative, Conference, Intellectual Freedom, Leadership Development, Membership, and Marketing. The Association currently has a membership of approximately 850 individual and institutional members.
Compensation and Benefits: Salary Range is $55,000 - $70,000 plus benefits package including personal leave and holiday pay, health insurance allowance, professional development opportunities, and retirement.
