Candidate’s Statement: When I think of FLA, I think of community and a close-knit family. Florida is a big state with many different libraries but FLA does a fabulous job of bringing us together for a common good.  If elected as president, I will continue to build upon this feeling of affinity while advocating for Florida Libraries.

Candidate’s Statement:  I am honored to be nominated for the position of Vice-President/President-elect of FLA.  I have worked in a variety of libraries during the course of my career – including school, community college, 4-year college, joint-use and military service academy libraries.  This variety of experiences has allowed me to develop a passion for building connections as proven by my long history of collaborative relationships across library and community types.  We may have different missions, different patrons, different funding sources and structures; but, as library professionals, we are all connected at the core.  As your Vice-President/President-elect, I would continue to look for those critical connections and work hard to increase the power and the reach of our collective voice.

Candidate’s Statement: Prior to her work in academia, Kaufmann was a financial advisor and researcher for investing and financial planning. This mix of professional experiences - in the private and public sectors - have influenced her nuanced view of library and information science and transferable skill development. Her interests include marketing the library, information literacy and user experience.  If elected as Secretary of FLA, Kaufmann will bring a collaborative work paradigm which embraces diversity of thought and innovative spaces as considerations.
