Your membership dues allow FLA to help Florida's Libraries and Floridians by:

  • Taking a leadership role in state wide issues and service development for all Florida libraries
  • Partnering with other state and national organizations relevant to libraries
  • Providing opportunities for professional education and continuing education
  • Working closely with the information industry, facilitating productive links with the library community
  • Advocating and lobbying for state and national legislation and funding for all types of library service
  • Supporting development of library boards and friends of the library groups

Personal Membership Dues:

  • Library Employees - dues based on income- See Rates
  • New Florida MLS Graduates - first year after graduation at student rate $25 (verification required)*.  
  • Students (FLA only) - (6 credit hours or more) $25 (verification required)*
  • FLA/ALA Joint Student Membership- $38, for more information Click Here
  • Retired - (no longer employed in a library) $25
  • Library Supporter - (not employed in library) $30

Organizational Membership Types and Dues:

  • Libraries, consortia, networks,cooperatives and library schools/degree programs - dues are based on operating expenses and include free conference registration- See Rates
  • Friends Groups and Other Non-Profit Groups - $100 annual dues

Business Memberships                                                                                                               

Benefits of a Business Membership:  

  • Your business logo highlighted on the Florida Library Association website banner
  • 5% discount on exhibitor registration fees and early access to selecting your own booth location at our annual conference
  • Promote your business with a presentation, an announcement, or simply tell your story and we’ll post it on our 1000 FLA member listserv (limit - once/year)
  • A listing in Florida Libraries and a Complimentary subscription to the online semi-annual journal
