The Magic of Makerspaces

Florida Association for Media in Education members emphasize how design thinking and invention literacy skills engage makers in higher level thinking skills while they are having fun creating. They will also share tips learned during their makerspace experiences and demonstrate 3D printing, Makey Makey, Sphero Mini, Make Do, and other more popular makerspace items.

Ramona Rhae, M.A., M.L.I.S., Pinciana High School
Andrea Parisi, M.S. Ed. with Educational Media Certification, Colonial High School

Ramona Rhae is the Library Media Specialist at  Poinciana High School in Osceola County Florida.  She is the Membership Chair for the Florida Association for Media in Education and on the FAME Professional Development Committee.  She is also a Florida Teens Read Committee Alum.

Andrea Parisi is the Library Media Specialist at Colonial High School in Orange County Florida.  She is the current President of FAME, the Florida Association for Media in Education. Her past leadership experiences include FAME President-Elect; Secretary; Conference Exhibit Hall Chair; Author Committee Co-Chair, and Chair of Local Arrangements, as well as past President of OCAEM, the Orange County Association of Educational Media. During Andrea’s 37 year career in education she has worked with students from Pre-K thru 12th Grade.
