2021 Lightning RoundDisability and Chronic Illness Representation in FictionWith the current trends in publishing showcasing more diverse books, I aim to focus on and shed a light on those that feature characters that are part of the disabled and chronically ill community. As a disabled person, I still struggle to find myself in the books I read. It’s time to highlight those that feature disability representation, especially disabled voices, to help disabled patrons find themselves in fiction.
