Engaging College Students with Rare BooksThe session will focus on using exhibits to provide patrons with hands on or engaged learning opportunities. Presenters will discuss methods used to advertise the exhibit while providing access through both physical and digital formats. Attendees will learn about how to partner to create a high-impact learning environment. TrackSpecial Collections SpeakersGerrianne Schaad, Florida Southern College Marina Morgan, Florida Southern College Steven Wade, Florida Southern College Gerrianne Schaad is a certified archivist with over 25 years of experience. She has worked in a variety of settings from museums to universities. Her current position of Archivist at Florida Southern entails 3-5 exhibits per year in a dedicated gallery space. Marina Morgan is the Metadata Librarian at Florida Southern College. She has a diverse experience working with various cataloging and metadata standards, controlled vocabularies, web technology standards, and worked in highly collaborative environments on various special collections and digital scholarship projects. Steven Wade is an Instructional Services Librarian at Florida Southern College. He provides information literacy instruction to students and manages the library’s electronic resources. Before becoming a librarian Steven worked as a tutor of English and math at West Kentucky Community and Technical College.
