Athanasia (Athy) Fitos works for the Miami-Dade Public
Library System as a branch
manager of the Allapattah Branch Library. S
he moonlights as a part-time instructional
and reference librarian at
Miami-Dade College Kendall Campus. Athy has a diverse
background in li
braries, having worked at academic, special collections, school, and now
public institutions. In 2012, she received her Master’s degree in Librar
y Science from the
University of South Florida. Athy is engaged in ser
vice to the profession, acting as a
member of committees and task forc
es for the Florida Library Association, Public Library
Association, AL
