“Information and Digital Literacy Resources for Library Staff” is a refresher webinar presenting
useful resources for library staff needing to develop or update their information and digital
literacy skills. Information and digital literacies are the responsibility of all library staff as both
involve important skills necessary for library workers to provide excellent customer service to
patrons. The webinar will include a review of reference resources for library workers and ideas
for information and digital literacy competency development and assessment.

Presented by Athanasia (Athy) Fitos.
Athanasia (Athy) Fitos works for the Miami-Dade Public Library System as a branch
manager of the Allapattah Branch Library. She moonlights as a part-time instructional
and reference librarian at Miami-Dade College Kendall Campus. Athy has a diverse
background in libraries, having worked at academic, special collections, school, and now
public institutions. In 2012, she received her Master’s degree in Library Science from the
University of South Florida. Athy is engaged in service to the profession, acting as a
member of committees and task forces for the Florida Library Association, Public Library
