2020 Lightning Rounds:
Leading into Librarianship: an MLIS Student’s Journey in Academic Libraries

Lightning Round Description

This presentation focuses on the progression of a newly hired MLIS student working at an academic health sciences library for the first time. This topic relates to the theme “Leading Forward” as the student is navigating how to step up and contribute to the library, while representing a new wave of librarians in the making. Throughout this presentation, the student will discuss accomplishments in programming, instructional media, and publishing, among other tasks, while still being in the process of completing library school. It also aims to highlight the support from the librarians at the library, and how they have aided in developing and preparing the student for a future in librarianship.
