Poster Summary and Objectives
If professionals find themselves overwhelmed with news alerts and briefs or find that it is becoming more difficult due to more sophisticated technologies to distinguish real news from that which is not, how then do college students fare? How are college students grappling with the massive onslaught of information, specifically "fake news" and does their choice of social media platform increase or decrease such interactions? How are college students grappling with the massive onslaught of information, specifically "fake news" and does their choice of social media platform increase or decrease their interaction? This presentation aims to address these questions with data collected from students using a "Views on News" survey at a small, private, liberal Historically Black university in the southeast.
