Wager on Wikipedia: Information Literacy in the Digital Age

An introduction to Wikipedia in the context of information and digital literacy instruction. Find out how you can contribute to Wikipedia, learn about ongoing partnerships with libraries, and receive hands-on instruction in basic Wikipedia editing. Participants must bring their own laptops.

Meryl Cinnamon, OCLC

Meryl Cinnamon has been a Member Relations Liaison at OCLC since 2012. Prior to joining OCLC, she worked at LYRASIS, PALINET, and CAPCON and began her library career in the Rutgers University Libraries system. Meryl has her MLS and BA degrees from Rutgers University.

Carrie Cullen, Shimberg Health Sciences Library, University of South Florida

Carrie Cullen is the Graduate Medical Education Librarian at the Shimberg Health Sciences Library in Tampa, and earned her MLIS from the University of South Florida. She is a coordinator of the Florida Librarians of Wikipedia user group, Immediate Past President of Suncoast Information Specialists, and serves on the Membership Committee of the Florida Health Sciences Library Association.

Paul Flagg, Dunbar Elementary Magnet School

Paul Flagg is a library media specialist in Tampa, Florida. He received his MLIS from USF in the spring of 2017. He is a member of Florida Librarians of Wikipedia, Florida Library Association, the American Association of School Librarians, the American Library Association, and the ALA Intellectual Freedom Committee. He has been contributing to Wikipedia since 2016 with a focus on expanding and adding diverse content.
