Black Joy: Stories of Resistance, Resilience, and Restoration
by Tracey Michae'l Lewis-Giggetts

Inspired by her essay on Black Joy for The Washington Post, this collection of essays showcases "instances of joy in the context of Black culture" to challenge stereotypical stories of "Black life as solely comprised of trauma and hardship." Join us to discuss how joy can not only help overcome obstacles but also become a resource for resistance and restoration.

This book club is open to anyone at no charge! Books are carefully selected to encourage dialogue on topics of diversity and how they may relate to the library workplace. Together, we create a fun and safe environment where we can have conversations on topics like gender identity, race, and immigrant experiences with the help of some really interesting reads.
