All About Access: Technical Services & Public Services Collaboration

This session will have 5 panelists from various academic institutions who will be talking about their experiences with Technical Services & Public Services collaboration. Each presenter will give about a 5-minute talk with the rest of the session dedicated to answering questions from the audience.


Technical Services and Collection Management


Chris Boyd, Florida Gulf Coast University

Chris Boyd is Head of Technical Services, Collections Management, at FGCU Library. He holds an MLS from North Carolina Central University and an MBA from the F.W. Olin Graduate School at Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts.

Renee Gould, Saint Leo University

Mrs. Gould is the Collection Development Librarian at Saint Leo University. She holds a MLIS from Long Island University, CW Post, in Brookville, New York.

Tina Herman Buck, University of Central Florida

Tina is the Electronic Resources Librarian at UCF. She got her MLS from the University of Pittsburgh.

Jennifer Murray, University of North Florida

Ms. Murray is the Director of Technical Services and Library Systems at the University of North Florida. She holds a MLS from the University at Buffalo, in Buffalo, New York.

Peter Spyers-Duran, University of Central Florida

Peter Spyers-Duran is a cataloger librarian at the University of Central Florida (UCF) Libraries, where he has worked since 1996. In addition to his cataloging duties, Mr. Spyers-Duran provides reference service and is collection development liaison to the economics and finance departments. Prior to joining cataloging in 2006, Mr. Spyers-Duran was a reference, instruction, and collection development librarian.
