Diversity Discussions

We are pleased to continue the quarterly Diversity Discussions program! This book club is open to all FLA members. The book selections for discussion were carefully selected to help open up dialogue on topics of diversity and how they may relate to the library workplace. Together, we’ll create a fun and safe environment where we can have conversations on topics like gender identity, race, and immigrant experiences with the help of some really interesting reads. Here’s what we’ve got lined up:

Banned Books Club: November 4, 2pm (EDT)
Surviving the City, #1 & #2 by Tasha Spillett

The DEIA Committee is pleased to announce the Fall Selection to the Diversity Discussions program. The book selection for this month is SURVIVING THE CITY, vol. 1 & 2 by Tasha Spillett. Spillett presents a story about womanhood, friendship, gender identity, and the anguish of a missing loved one set against growing up with the historical legacy of Canada’s treatment of indigenous people, particularly women and girls.
